On view in the Berton and Sallie Korman Galleries of the Philadelphia Museum of Art are six drawings by Warren Rohrer and eighteen works by Edna Andrade. Joining them are two-dozen works on paper and a sculpture by Bill Walton. Each of the artists spent more than thirty years as artists and art educators in the city of Philadelphia.
Originally taking inspiration from the landscape (especially that of his upbringing in Lancaster County, PA), Warren Rohrer is known for his sensuous layered oil paintings covered in fields of mark making.
This exhibition from the permanent collection of Prints and Drawing is an exciting representation of the museum’s continued investment in the legacy of significant Philadelphia artists. The works will be on view in the Korman galleries (#121-123) through April.
