The monumental work Mural by Chimes (at 7 feet by 17 feet) which has been in the permanent collection of the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida since 1968, is now joined by recent acquisitions from the Chimes family in the exhibition Thomas Chimes from the Permanent Collection. Their collection of his work now survey's his career: his works on paper and examples of his major bodies of work including the crucifixion paintings (1958–65), metal box constructions (1965–73), panel portraits (1973–1978), and critically acclaimed white paintings (1980–2009). The exhibition is on view through October 22nd.
