Join us for an unscripted conversation about the last chapter of Renoir’s career with Philadelphia Inquirer film critic Carrie Rickey, artist Jane Irish, and Joseph Rishel, The Gisela and Dennis Alter Senior Curator of European Painting before 1900. Matthew Palczynski, Staff Lecturer for Western Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, moderates the conversation and fields questions. Images of Renoir’s paintings from the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Barnes Foundation serve as the backdrop for an evening of debate about this key painter of early modernism. Dissenting voices welcome!
