Locks Gallery is pleased to announce that Ellen Harvey has been named a 2016 Guggenheim Fellow. Edward Hirsch, president of the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, states: "These artists and writers, scholars and scientists, represent the best of the best. It’s an honor to be able to support these individuals to do the work they were meant to do.”
Ellen Harvey’s work challenges the way we look at traditional iconography through surprising installations and projects that call attention to the personal, social, or physical conditions under which we understand and view images. Harvey is a graduate of Harvard, Yale Law School and the Whitney Independent Study Program. Her work has been widely exhibited in the U.S. and internationally.
