Elizabeth Osborne

 

Following her graduation from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Osborne spent a year in the mid-1960s studying in Paris through the Fulbright Program. This period was of great importance, resulting in the artist’s first mature paintings.Elizabeth Osborne: The Sixties traces the influence of Osborne’s contemporaries, such as Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg, and presents the first survey of the artist’s haunting, black paintings from this decade.
